Job Summary
Research Associate to establish, operate, and improve Merge Labs' AAV vector core; responsible for running weekly AAV production workflows from mammalian cell culture through harvest, purification, concentration, and handoff, performing QC assays (vector titer, purity, genome integrity), plasmid prep, organizing production runs and timelines, maintaining complete lot records and deviations, updating SOPs, and supporting related viral/non-viral workflows. Requires hands-on mammalian tissue culture, experience with AAV or biologics production, molecular biology (cloning, PCR, sequencing verification), analytical QC assays (qPCR, SDS-PAGE, ddPCR), and strong documentation in ELN/LIMS; collaborative, service-oriented mindset with a focus on reproducibility and process improvement. Degree: BS/BA/MS in a scientific/engineering field; salary range $95k-$120k; location: San Francisco, CA (in-person).
