Job Summary
Research Associate at TAMUK with duties including designing, planning, and conducting fieldwork; data management and statistical analyses; preparing proposals and grants; coordinating outreach and stakeholder engagement; maintaining records; and collaboration with lab/field personnel and local landowners. Based remotely from Leakey, TX with primary duties at a field office and oversight of field operations, data analysis, and reporting for funded research projects. Requires a Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; familiarity with field equipment such as camera traps; ability to manage databases, run statistical analyses, and prepare scientific communications and outreach materials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of related experience
- Familiarity with appropriate field and technical equipment, specifically camera traps
- Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to create databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks
- Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others
- Physical requirements for strenuous field work
- Work beyond normal hours and/or weekends
- Export-control authorization may be required prior to starting employment
- Compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System policies
