Job Summary
Research Associate to perform general investment research and analysis in the technology sector; build, maintain, and update detailed financial models and datasheets to support investment decision-making; gather data from primary and secondary sources to uncover insights; draft investment cases and research notes; write earnings notes following quarterly results; prepare for and participate in meetings with portfolio managers, company management, and industry experts; contribute to a collaborative team culture and align with Sands Capital’s mission and values; requires strong Excel, PowerPoint, and FactSet/Bloomberg proficiency; Mandarin preferred; familiarity with Claude Code; hybrid work arrangement at Sands Capital HQ in Arlington, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- 1-3 years of experience analyzing businesses (sell-side research, investment banking, consulting, or investment management)
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis, including 3-statement modeling
- Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and FactSet or Bloomberg
- Mandarin Chinese skills (spoken and reading) preferred
- Familiarity with Claude Code preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, analytical, strategic mindset and a collaborative attitude
- Genuine passion for business analysis/investment research
- Superior client service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, professional environment
- Integrity and independent working capability

- Salary range based on experience at $105,000-$120,000
