Research Associate (Tax Policy)

Job Summary
Conduct quantitative and qualitative research on taxation, public finance, and economic policy by analysing datasets on compliance costs, litigation, and investment. Undertake literature reviews, comparative policy studies, and international benchmarking to support the development of evidence-based policy recommendations and long-term reform frameworks. Prepare policy papers, issue briefs, and background notes for consultations with government officials, academia, and industry stakeholders. Monitor domestic and global developments in taxation to contribute to blogs, newsletters, and presentations for senior policymakers. Requires a Master's degree in Economics or Public Policy with 2–3 years of experience in think tanks or consulting; location is ICPP- Okhla Industrial Estate, Phase 3.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Economics, Public Policy or related discipline
- 2–3 years of experience in: Public policy research organisations/Think tanks
- 2–3 years of experience in: Economic/Strategy/public sector consulting
- Strong understanding of economic policy and public finance
- Excellent analytical and research skills
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of India's federal tax system, fiscal policy and public finance
- Experience working with government datasets and policy reports
- Quantitative skills (Excel required; familiarity with Stata, R or Python preferred)
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Ability to synthesise complex evidence into clear policy recommendations
- Strong project management and stakeholder coordination abilities
