Job Summary
As a Research Associate (RA) in Scientific Services at Altasciences, you will perform technical procedures on laboratory animals (mice, rats, canines, non-human primates) following SOPs and SOP protocols, restrain animals as needed, operate laboratory equipment, collect specimens and data, monitor and report changes in animal health or behavior, and assist with study setup and data entry. The role requires adherence to GLP standards, ability to follow written and verbal instructions, maintain clean and organized work areas, support study supervisors and directors, and cross-train in other departments. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent with BA/BS preferred, experience with animals in research or regulated environments preferred, ALAT certification preferred, basic computer skills, and good communication skills in English. The position offers a pay range of $22.25-$36.00 per hour-equivalent annualized to approximately $46,280 – $74,880 depending on experience, benefits, and location; telework is indicated as applicable in some contexts, but this listing specifies an Everett, WA on-site location.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; BA/BS in a scientific discipline preferred
- Experience working with animals in research or a regulated environment preferred
- ALAT certification preferred
- Intermediate computer experience including Microsoft Office suite, Project, Info Path and Access
- English proficiency to read and interpret documents and write routine reports
- Basic math skills as they apply to interpreting scientific data
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work cross-functionally
- Comfortable communicating with all levels of management and employees
