Research Associate - Mellon College of Science - Biological Sciences

Design, implement, and publish software package for comparative genomics analyses; assist laboratory members with bioinformatic analyses; maintain organized data and scripts on the laboratory’s server and GitHub; identify problems and obstacles and develop strategies to solve them; perform research experiments following experimental protocol and procedures; summarize statistical information for analysis, examination or presentation, and write technical reports; may build and validate quantitative models. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) and 1-3 years of research experience with experience in bioinformatics, programming, Python, Nextflow, and R; strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and reasoning skills.
