Job Summary
The Research Associate role focuses on optimizing current processes and developing new processes for the pretreatment of biomass waste, including the characterization of raw biomass, products, and byproducts. Key responsibilities include characterizing raw biomass components and contaminations, optimizing existing processes for high yield, and developing new methods to achieve high yield while removing byproducts and contaminants. Monthly reporting to ExxonMobil managers is also required. Candidates should have a Master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field and at least 2 years of hands-on experience in biomass.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or related field
- At least 2 years of relevant experiences / technical hands-on experience in biomass
- Familiarity with characterization of organic and inorganic materials
- Proficiency in performing hydrothermal reactions, and operating common chemical characterization tools
- Competent in reporting and communication
