Job Summary
The University of Miami invites applications for a full-time Research Associate 1 in the Psychology department, supporting Dr. Amishi Jha’s neurobehavioral mindfulness research. Primary duties include coordinating and executing research projects, programming experiments, and collecting and analyzing behavioral data (including ERP and fMRI data). The role entails lab management, IRB process support, assisting with grant reports, manuscripts, and presentations, and contributing to literature reviews. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field, with strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills, and the ability to work independently in a laboratory setting. Experience with cognitive tasks and familiarity with cognitive neuroscience measures are highly encouraged.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience or other related field
- No previous experience required
- One year of cumulative experimental psychology research experience preferred
- Experience in programming and collecting data with cognitive neuroscience measures (behavioral tasks, EEG/FMRI) encouraged
- Interest and prior experience in studies of attention and emotion regulation preferred
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team-based research environment
- Knowledge of research methodology, basic statistics, cognitive psychology or cognitive neuroscience preferred
- Proficiency with office software; SPSS or R preferred
