Job Summary
Create a longitudinal dataset of Canadian workers using restricted access data at the uOttawa RDC and merge additional datasets to the worker panel. Clean and analyze the resulting longitudinal data by developing reproducible scripts using the statistical language R. Meet with professors to document task progress and proactively seek guidance if needed. This Research Assistant position is part of the Department of Economics under supervisors Nicholas Rivers and Vincent Thivierge, with work scheduled from September 1, 2026, to December 22, 2026, for a total of 130 hours.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in a graduate degree in economics
- Good basis in coding in R and RStudio
- Ability to communicate the data cleaning tasks to the professors effectively
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with data cleaning with R and RStudio
- Experience with using version control softwares such as Git, and online repository tools such as GitHub
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
