Job Summary
Research Assistant position in SpeeDx's R&D team (12-month fixed-term contract based in Redfern, NSW) focused on planning, performing, and interpreting experiments; qPCR design and optimisation; literature reviews; data analysis and reporting; collaboration across cross-functional teams; ISO13485 compliance; hands-on lab work with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment; training provided; potential extension or permanent opportunity. Based in Redfern with hybrid work options; entry-level opportunity in molecular diagnostics with opportunities to grow within a dynamic, award-winning organization.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum qualification Bachelor of Science with honours in a life sciences field
- Experience in molecular biology techniques
- Previous experience in qPCR assay development and optimisation
- Working knowledge of laboratory and QMS environment
- Previous experience working in a PC2 laboratory and with infectious organisms is highly desirable
- Possess strong data analysis and interpretation skills, critical and analytical thinking skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and pro-actively resolve scientific problems
- Possess strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Have meticulous technical execution with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrate open communication style and good people skills
