Job Summary
The Research Assistant Professor will conduct externally sponsored research in advanced additive manufacturing and related aerospace applications, develop competitive proposals for federal agencies and industry sponsors, publish findings in peer-reviewed venues, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, support lab operations and data analysis, and teach assigned undergraduate courses while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams across the university and external partners. Limited domestic travel and occasional after-hours work to support experiments and proposal deadlines are described as part of the role.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. or other doctorate-level equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced additive manufacturing
- Strong background in experimental research methods
- Ability to conduct and manage sponsored research projects
- Ability to teach undergraduate engineering courses
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative academic and research environment
