Research Assistant/Postdoctoral Researcher in Power Electronics for Integrated Voltage Regulators with Advanced Magnetic Device

Job Summary
Research-focused role to conduct model-based design, simulation, and optimization of integrated voltage regulators (IVRs) with advanced magnetic devices, PMICs and packaging technology. Responsibilities include developing physics-based and behavioural models for IVRs, establishing design workflows for fast exploration and optimization, integrating commercial magnetic components into system models, validating via simulation-measurement correlation, disseminating outcomes through publications and reports, contributing to proposals, mentoring Masters/PhD students, and engaging in education/public engagement. Requires experience with circuit modelling/simulation (MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, SPICE, Cadence Virtuoso), and a track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Desirable: IVR experience, magnetics modelling, industry-collaborative research, design automation techniques, translational research, or startup experience. Contract: Full-Time, Fixed Term (~2 years). Location: Cork, Ireland with blended remote/work-from-site options. Salary scales provided in EUR, dependent on experience.
Required Qualifications
- A B.E., B.Sc., or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field (Research Assistant)
- A PhD, or equivalent experience, in Power Electronics, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field (Postdoctoral Researcher)
