Job Summary
Train in basic necropsy and histology duties, learn anatomic terms, and perform euthanasia on multiple species per USDA regulations. Participate in quality controls, monitor resources, and utilize computer systems for data capture while adapting techniques as directed. Interpret study protocols, report animal care concerns, and maintain a safe, clean environment with client confidentiality. Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:15pm with overtime flexibility; $23/hr. Bachelor's in animal science, biology, chemistry, microbiology, or biochemistry required; 6 months experience with dissections and animal handling preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in animal science, biology, chemistry, microbiology, biochemistry OR associate's degree in veterinary technician
Desired Qualifications
- 6 months or more of experience with small and large animal dissections
- 6 months or more of experience in animal handling
- Comfortable working in animal research facility
- Comfortable with performing small and large animal necropsy
