Research and Outreach Project Facilitator

Job Summary
Lead coordination across investigators, trainees, staff, and external partners to support delivery of the Vision Research Cluster’s research and training activities. Contribute to development of research outputs, including grants and manuscripts, and identify funding opportunities to support proposal development and strategic planning. Oversee delivery of research-related events and engagement activities, ensuring alignment with cluster objectives and stakeholder needs. Participate in implementation and refinement of cluster initiatives and in operational planning including progress updates and renewal processes. Develop experiential learning pathways for trainees by partnering with internal and external collaborators to identify placements and engagement opportunities. Strong written and verbal communication, organizational abilities, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
- Minimum of two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Preferred Qualifications: MD or PhD in a relevant discipline and three years of experience in research coordination; experience in grant writing and facilitation; prior work with healthcare researchers or in a research administration role at UBC or affiliated hospitals (asset)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
