Research and MREL Data Specialist

Job Summary
Compile, audit, and analyse Kobo-based baseline and endline data from all training cohorts to ensure transparent project impact tracking. Conduct research and analysis on socio-political, security, and economic topics; monitor open-source media; and collate community feedback for MEL integration. Produce monthly consolidated reports combining desk-based research, training data, and feedback for submission to EU FPI. Maintain data governance protocols and support mid-term reviews by quality-assuring data extracts for independent evaluation. Provide ad-hoc analysis and visualisation for the Syria-based project team. Based in Syria, fluent in Arabic and English, with a Bachelor's or Master's in a related field.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (statistics, social science, data science, monitoring & evaluation)
- Master's degree advantageous
- Demonstrated experience with data collection and management tools such as Kobo Toolbox
- Strong Excel/data analysis skills
- Experience working with MEL systems in an international development, humanitarian, or CVE programming context
- Strong academic background in research and analysis
- Ability to critically assess sources and information
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to synthesise data from multiple sources (survey, dashboard, qualitative feedback) into clear reporting
- Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and spoken
- High attention to detail
- Strong data integrity / quality assurance mindset
- Based in Syria
- Ability to work confidentially and securely with sensitive beneficiary data
