Job Summary

Provide research consultations and reference assistance to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community users through in-person, virtual, and asynchronous service models. Coordinate and deliver course-integrated library instruction sessions aligned with institutional learning outcomes and curriculum needs. Develop engaging instructional materials, tutorials, workshops, and learning objects using instructional design and accessibility best practices. Lead the development of the library's instructional program, including learning outcomes, assessment practices, and service models. Serve as a library liaison to assigned academic departments through research support, instructional collaboration, and faculty engagement. Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to integrate library resources and information literacy concepts into Canvas and other learning environments. Participate in library programming, outreach activities, and campus engagement initiatives aligned with student success. Support assessment and continuous improvement efforts related to library instruction and user engagement through data collection and analysis.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an ALA accredited institution (MLS, MLIS, or other advanced degree relative to position)
  • Must clear and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
  • Must have valid driver's license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance; or have a self-reliant source of transportation to conduct business daily
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have strong public relations and customer service skills with an ability to implement diplomacy and discretion at all times
  • Must have an ability to work effectively with communities across the university
  • Must have high ethical standards and a strong sense of confidentiality
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
  • Must be able to thrive in a complex work environment
  • Must display solid problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Must work well independently and as part of a team
  • Must have a high attention to detail
  • Must be able to organize workflow, coordinate activities, balance simultaneous projects without loss of efficiency in a multi-tasked environment
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines
  • May be required to work more than 40 hours a week, depending on the event schedule

  • Must have demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and campus partners
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of and experience with library information technology, systems, products and delivery technologies that support access to library materials
  • Must have experience with LibGuides, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), web-based communication, information and collaboration tools
  • Must have familiarity with trends in library technology
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Library staff
  • Must be able to move across the university campus to conduct day to day business
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while assisting patrons
  • Must be regularly required to sit, walk, and stand
  • Must be able to talk and hear, both in person and by telephone
  • Must be able to use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment
  • Must occasionally be required to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must have close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information through designated systems within a timely manner
  • Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery

Desired Qualifications

  • 2 Years of professional experience working in an academic library or similar work
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish with the ability to understand and to make one's self understood to Spanish speaking individuals)
