Job Summary
Research Analyst on the Municipal Fixed Income team in New York responsible for proactively researching and implementing investment ideas across coverage sectors in tax-exempt and taxable municipal bond portfolios. Responsibilities include evaluating sector trends into actionable investment recommendations, producing high-quality financial modeling, credit analysis, and credit review presentations for Portfolio Managers, and utilizing data analysis tools and emerging AI applications to improve efficiency and depth of credit research. The role involves automating routine workflows, organizing large data sets, enhancing monitoring of credit trends across sectors, applying technology tools for idea generation, scenario analysis, surveillance of portfolio risks, and establishing industry relationships within covered sectors. Qualifications include 2-4 years of research experience (municipal bond market a plus), Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred), strong written and verbal communication, familiarity with AI/data/automation tools, and the ability to work in a fast-paced trading desk environment. Series 7 & 66 within 6 months of joining, and right to work in the country without sponsorship. Compensation includes a salary range of $115,000-$140,000, discretionary bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. Neuberger is an equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred with a strong academic record
- 2-4 years of research experience preferred
- Experience or demonstrated interest in the municipal bond market
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills sufficient to share ideas and influence portfolio outcomes
- Familiarity with AI tools, data platforms, or automation tools that can enhance research efficiency and idea generation
- Series 7 & 66 within 6 months of joining
