Job Summary
Conduct advanced quantitative and qualitative research for NHTSA vehicle safety compliance programs and initiatives. Analyze complex vehicle safety, compliance, testing, and market data to identify trends, risks, anomalies, and performance metrics. Review manufacturer submissions, technical reports, and regulatory information to prepare reports, summaries, presentations, and data visualizations for government stakeholders. Collaborate with engineers, investigators, and technical specialists to support agency initiatives, requirements gathering, and workflow improvements. Ensure data quality through validation activities and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and project records. Perform statistical analyses at an expert level and support testing, validation, and software implementation efforts. Complete deliverables accurately on schedule in accordance with contractual requirements and NHTSA quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Automotive Engineering, Business, Public Administration, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience performing automotive research, data analysis, program analysis, or technical research
- Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience analyzing large datasets and preparing technical reports for executive or government audiences
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or other required federal background investigation
