Job Summary
Initiate, research, and recommend new investment ideas by analyzing portfolio risks, exposures, and performance drivers while understanding trends in financial markets. Prepare documentation to communicate portfolio performance, investment options, and pending decisions. Participate in regular meetings to discuss organizational developments, investment strategy, and risk, while working with client-facing colleagues to strengthen and gain new client relationships. Mentor less experienced personnel and identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Adhere to the Company's risk, regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience
- Combined minimum of 7 years' higher education and/or work experience (in lieu of a degree)
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience (in lieu of a degree)
- Strong understanding of capital markets
- Current knowledge of the state of the investment management industry
- Proficient with common industry tools
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience
- CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or progressing toward obtaining CFA designation
- Highly analytical
- Research-driven skill set
- Motivated self-starter comfortable working with senior management
