Job Summary
The Rescue/Safety Technician is responsible for using specialized equipment for emergency response, including medical calls and technical rescues such as rope and confined space operations. Duties include operating tools and communication devices, responding to emergencies, maintaining rescue equipment, completing paperwork, and adhering to safety procedures. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a TWIC card, and the ability to pass necessary training. Physical demands include working at heights and lifting at least 20 pounds. Part-time employment with flexibility in scheduling and potential to transition to full-time with benefits is offered.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum - high school graduation or GED
- TWIC Card (have or have applied for)
- Able to pass evaluations for all training provided by F.I.R.S.T. in new hire class and annual refreshers
- Mandatory pre-employment and random drug testing required
- Clean background check
- Current driver’s license
- Must be able to work at heights ranging up to 300ft above ground
- Physical requirements involve climbing ladders to reach heights while carrying tools/gear
- Must be able able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
- Work outside year-round facing all different weather climates
- Organizational skills to keep paperwork and equipment in order
- Interpersonal skills to create a pleasant experience for all customers/employees
- Technologically competent
- Minimum of 3 days of availability put in weekly
