Job Summary

Consolidate, structure, and manage system requirements for deployable space structures while ensuring traceability between customer, system, and component specifications. Maintain requirement baselines, perform flow-down to engineering teams and suppliers, and translate technical needs into implementable specifications. Support verification activities by managing control documents, tracking verification status, and coordinating impact assessments for change control boards. Collaborate across multidisciplinary disciplines to assess technical trade-offs, estimate engineering effort, and produce verification evidence for design reviews and qualification campaigns.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in requirements engineering, verification engineering or systems engineering in complex technical projects
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills, capable of understanding both the overall system architecture and detailed subsystem interactions
  • Ability to structure complex technical information and maintain clear requirements traceability
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to interface effectively with multidisciplinary teams and international partners
  • Ability to quickly understand complex technical systems and their dependencies
  • Ability to manage priorities and work effectively under tight project schedules

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with space projects and ESA / ECSS standards
  • Experience in European space or aerospace development programmes
  • Knowledge of requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama, Polarion)
  • Experience with verification planning and verification matrices
  • Formal background in Systems Engineering (e.g., INCOSE)
  • Previous experience in mechanical or structural design engineering in aerospace projects
  • German language skills
  • Experience in mechanical engineering of spacecraft hardware, including structural design or mechanical systems development
  • Experience with deployable structures, mechanisms or antenna systems for aerospace applications
  • Knowledge of thermal engineering and spacecraft thermal control or thermal analysis
  • Experience with materials and processes for aerospace applications, including metals, composites or tribology
  • Experience with verification and qualification of space hardware, including environmental testing (vibration, shock, thermal vacuum)
  • Engineering roles involving design, analysis, integration or testing of aerospace hardware within the European space industry
