Job Summary
Conduct daily patient care, diagnostic procedures, and facility maintenance for equine patients across the Reproduction Department and Elective Barn. Prepare examination rooms, clean and restock vehicles, process laboratory samples, and maintain accurate medical records in the HVMS system. Handle horses, foals, and stallions while ensuring biosecurity protocols and inventory management standards are met. Rotate seasonally between clinical appointments and barn duties, including after-hours services as needed. Maintain clean workspaces, report equipment issues, and adhere to safety standards in an outdoor environment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Acceptable driving record
- Strong equine handling
- Restraint skills
- Horsemanship skills
- Knowledge of MSDS
- Safe handling practices
- Use of personal protective equipment including gloves, masks, and eyewash stations
Desired Qualifications
- Graduation from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program
- Successful completion of the VTNE
- Equine veterinary experience
- Animal science education
- Equivalent equine handling experience
- Demonstrated interest in equine reproduction and patient care
- Stallion handling experience
- Experience handling breeding stallions
