Job Summary
Reprocessing Educator at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital leads the design, direction, and delivery of education for caregivers in sterile processing. You will develop and evaluate educational offerings, assist with department orientation and competencies, coordinate continuing education and training programs, and consult with Nursing Institute, Surgical Operations, Infection Prevention and other groups to align practices with industry standards. The role involves traveling to different Cleveland Clinic facilities to deliver training, with a schedule that supports day-to-evening shifts (7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. at Fairview Hospital and rotations to other CCF hospitals). Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of sterile processing experience (or six years of progressive experience) plus Sterile Processing certification (CRCST, CSPDT, CER or equivalent) with dual CRCST/CSPDT and CER/CER certification required within 24 months. Proficiency in MS Office, experience with LMS or similar educational technologies, knowledge of AAMI Standards, and experience in training methods, competency assessments, and continual process improvement are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Education, Healthcare Administration or related field
- Five years recent sterile processing experience with demonstrated technical and instrument expertise OR an additional six years progressively responsible experience in Sterile Processing
- Sterile Processing certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER) that must be maintained
- Dual certification of the CRCST/CSPDT and the CFER/CER required within twenty-four months of hire
- Demonstrated knowledge of AAMI Standards supporting all processes performed in Sterile Processing
- Preceptor training
- Demonstrated expertise in reprocessing and computer skills utilizing clinical systems (SPM) and Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with surgical instruments, decontamination, sterilization and high-level disinfection
- Experience with training methods, competency assessments and instructional technology
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and quality assurance measures
- Ability to travel to various Cleveland Clinic facilities within the Florida region
