Representative - Outside Sales

Job Summary
Representative - Outside Sales will develop new prospects and manage assigned customer accounts to grow sales and margin. Responsibilities include face-to-face selling, account management, developing and delivering sales bids/proposals and product demonstrations, identifying customer needs, executing on account plans, maintaining customer relationships, and leveraging supplier and marketing programs. Travel to client sites and suppliers is required (50% - 75% of the time). Strong presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office, are necessary. A valid driver’s license and High School degree or equivalent are required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. This role offers commission in addition to base salary and involves field sales activities.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License, with a satisfactory driving record required
- High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- Prior sales experience required, outside sales preferred
- Two years of industry experience preferred
- Ability to travel to current and potential clients and suppliers
- Ability to work flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective communicator both written and verbally
- Ability to work in team environment
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
- Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques (Preferred)
- Ability to travel 50% - 75% of the time
