Job Summary
Customer Service Representative (Order Clerk) handles inquiry-driven and transactional duties: receiving requests for price quotations, orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations from customers and labs; maintaining customer and vendor relationships; assisting with returns of stock and defective lenses/frames; preparing documentation for product returns; assisting with assembly/packaging for monthly auto-kit mailings; managing customer lists for auto-ship programs; using PC systems to retrieve and update customer and order information; coordinating with vendors on order status and quotations; troubleshooting issues with coworkers or customers; communicating company policies and promotions, and upholding HIPAA confidentiality and safety requirements; providing guidance and training to less experienced coworkers; and performing other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 1+ year(s) of experience in customer service, hospitality or call center environment
- Excellent telephone etiquette and ability to manage difficult customer situations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Basic PC skills including MS Office (Word and Excel)
- Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds
