Job Summary
Junior to mid-level DBA, Power BI & SQL Data Analyst to support and enhance BI and reporting for a mortgage servicing/finance tech environment. Responsibilities include administering and maintaining MS SQL Server databases; performance tuning and troubleshooting; monitoring backups, data integrity, and security; supporting SSAS solutions; developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards; performing ETL-related data transformations; optimizing queries, indexes, and database structures; participating in upgrades, migrations, and patching; documenting configurations and procedures; supporting disaster recovery and business continuity planning; analyzing system performance metrics and recommending improvements. Requires 2-3 years of database administration experience with Power BI and data modeling (MDX/DAX), strong SQL Server skills, experience supporting production BI reports, data warehousing knowledge, ability to translate requirements into Power BI solutions, data quality/performance troubleshooting, and strong communication for non-technical stakeholders. The role offers full-time scheduling with standard hours, a 90-day training period, and some remote-work flexibility after training, with compensation in the hourly range of $24-$30.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years of database administration experience with Microsoft Power BI, data modeling, MDX/DAX
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL), including complex queries, stored procedures, and basic performance tuning
- Experience supporting production BI reports and dashboards used by business stakeholders or leadership
- Working knowledge of data warehousing concepts and reporting best practices
- Ability to independently gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective, user-friendly Power BI solutions
- Comfortable troubleshooting data quality, performance, and reporting issues in an existing environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain data insights to non-technical users
