Job Summary
Report verbatim testimony on stenographic machines and transcribe audio files for hearings and trials using the Case Catalyst System. Maintain accurate case records and files, then appear in court to testify regarding transcript accuracy when required. Demonstrate proficiency in two-voice dictation at 175 words per minute during the appointment interview. This role supports the Grand Jury within the Bronx County District Attorney's Office, which pursues justice with integrity for over 1.4 million community members.
Required Qualifications
- four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization
- Stenotype Proficiency
- demonstrate your proficiency to take two-voice dictation, using a stenotype machine, at the rate of 175 words per minute and to transcribe same
- at least one year of satisfactory experience working in an office of a District Attorney performing Assignment Level I duties
