Job Summary
Multi-Skilled Journalist role at TEGNA's KSDK-TV in Saint Louis. Responsibilities include performing authoritative live shots in developing/breaking news, developing story ideas, mining the community for sources, writing and producing stories within a specific framework, researching for facts and credibility, maintaining and developing sources, shooting, writing, producing, and editing on air and online content within deadlines, using graphics and new media techniques to enhance stories, leveraging social media and digital tools for research and distribution, and attending editorial meetings to contribute story ideas. Required capabilities include solid news judgment, strong writing and production skills, ability to work under deadlines, and proficiency with newsroom tools; experience with ENPS/EDIUS/Axis graphics is preferred, and knowledge of Saint Louis is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years reporting experience preferred
- Must possess solid news judgment
- Strong writing skills, production skills and tease writing abilities
- Ability to shoot, write, produce and edit on air and online content within deadlines
- ENPS, EDIUS and Axis graphics experience is preferred
- Must be organized with the ability to work under constant deadlines
- Must be able to calmly handle live breaking news situations
- Proven social and digital content creation ability
- Knowledge of Saint Louis a plus
