Job Summary
Multi-Skilled Journalist for KPNX-TV in Phoenix, responsible for authoritative live shots in developing/breaking stories, developing story ideas, mining the community for sources, writing and producing stories across on-air and online platforms, and using graphics and new media tools to enhance reporting. Will shoot, write, produce and edit content within deadlines, utilize social media and digital tools for research and distribution, attend editorial meetings with daily story ideas, and bring strong writing, production, and tease-writing abilities. Requires driving capability to operate a news gathering vehicle; 3-5 years reporting experience preferred; ENPS/EDIUS/Axis graphics experience preferred; knowledge of Phoenix a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years reporting experience preferred
- Must possess solid news judgment, display strong communication skills, creativity, and ethical decision-making skills
- Strong writing skills, production skills and tease writing abilities
- ENPS, EDIUS and Axis graphics experience is preferred
- Must be organized with the ability to work under constant deadlines
- Must be able to calmly handle live breaking news situations and changing events
- Proven social and digital content creation ability
- Knowledge of Phoenix a plus
