Job Summary
Produce, report, shoot, write, voice, edit, and feed news production content for all platforms in a clear, engaging, and meaningful manner. Arrange interviews with sources, review copy for errors, and evaluate notes to isolate pertinent facts. Research background information, pitch stories to managers, and discuss issues with producers to establish priorities. Shoot and edit news events, present reports across all platforms, and ensure content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality. Write stories for web and eMedia platforms while interacting with viewers on social media sites. Perform special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required
- Minimum two years' experience in news reporting (Depending on market size)
- Superior on-air presence
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Flexibility to work any shift
