Job Summary
Produce, report, shoot, write, voice, edit, and feed news production content for all platforms in a clear, engaging manner. Arrange interviews, review copy for errors, and evaluate notes to isolate pertinent facts. Research background information, gather event details, and pitch stories to managers. Receive assignments, discuss priorities with producers, and check reference materials for relevant facts. Shoot and edit news events, present reports for all platforms, and write stories for web and eMedia. Interact with viewers on social media sites and perform special projects as assigned. Ensure all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required
- Minimum two years' experience in news reporting (Depending on market size)
- Superior on-air presence
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Valid driver's license
- Flexibility to work any shift
