Job Summary

Prepare reports, write web texts, and produce news bulletins for francophone audiences covering Center and Southern Alberta. Report live on camera, speak on radio, and manage online news while adhering to CBC/Radio-Canada standards. Rotate weekends, early mornings, and late nights with colleagues. Maintain a full-time on-site presence in Calgary. Submit applications in French, including a demo link, and pass background checks. Join a team dedicated to informing, entertaining, and connecting Canadians through diverse storytelling.

Required Qualifications

  • English (Reading - C - Advanced)
  • English (Speaking - C - Advanced)
  • English (Writing - B - Intermediate)
  • French (Reading - C - Advanced)
  • French (Speaking - C - Advanced)
  • French (Writing - C - Advanced)
  • Journalism training or a bachelor's degree with experience, three (3) years, related to journalism
  • Directly related experience that includes demonstrating journalism skills on radio, TV, and writing
  • Strong ability to identify topics
  • Knowledge related to the issues faced by francophones in minority language settings, specifically in Alberta
  • Knowledge of Alberta, Canadian and international news
  • A knowledge and presence on the trending social networks
  • Knowledge of Radio-Canada's mandate and its journalistic policies
  • Fluency in French (spoken and written)
  • A good knowledge of the English language (spoken and written)
  • A valid Canadian driver's license
  • Skills for self-learning of new technologies
  • Interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to plan, organize and coordinate your day-to-day work to meet tight deadlines
  • Availability for travel and flexible working hours
  • Full-time on-site presence
  • Calgary-based
  • A mandatory Criminal record check

Desired Qualifications

  • An asset such as knowledge of the production software (iNews, Avid) used by Radio-Canada
  • An asset such as knowledge of the publishing software (Scoop !, Picto) used at Radio-Canada
