Job Summary

The Book Review is looking for an experienced, ambitious and creative reporter to cover the publishing industry and wider literary world. You will balance breaking news with more in-depth investigations, explainers, service stories and enterprise reporting, develop sources, deliver regular scoops, and translate work into other formats including audio and video. Collaborate with visual editors on multimedia formats and report to the Book Review's news editor. This is an in-office position based in New York City with regular attendance in the office four days each week; some remote work may be possible per departmental guidance.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of journalism experience as a reporter
  • Strong news judgment and instincts
  • Experience in a deadline-driven environment
