Job Summary
Monitor over 70 Power BI report assets to ensure daily refreshes succeed and manage the ticket queue for issues and new requests. Perform modifications to reports, gather user requirements, and validate results to identify data inconsistencies while applying data quality standards. Assist developers in updating reports based on new data tables, migrate assets to match theme standards, and maintain inventory including logic, business rules, and documentation. Organize workspaces for governance, develop best practice documentation, and provide basic training on Power BI fundamentals. This Junior Report Writer supports the data team using foundational technical skills with a focus on Power BI, on-prem and cloud data sources, and Microsoft products.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, or a related field
- 1-2+ years of relevant experience in report writing, dashboards, Power BI and/or Tableau, and data architecture fundamentals
- Working knowledge of DAX, Power BI and/or Tableau reporting platforms, Excel, or equivalent tools
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with end users, tell data-driven stories, and translate technical concepts into clear, accessible language
- Ability to analyze reporting issues, identify potential data inconsistencies, and help translate business processes into clear reporting requirements
- Sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to support technical problem-solving in a production reporting environment
- Ability to regularly talk or hear
- Ability to frequently sit; use hands and fingers to handle, feel or reach with hands and arms
- Ability to occasionally stand and walk
- Ability to occasionally lift 10 lbs up to 25 lbs

Desired Qualifications
- Industry certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate or equivalent
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts such as data relationships and table joins
- Ability to write and understand Power Query formulas, DAX, filter data, and perform table joins in Power BI
- Understanding of data types such as date, datetime, etc.
- Knowledge of basic SQL and simple SELECT statements
- Familiarity with data modeling concepts such as star schema
- Familiarity with Dynamics 365 F&O ERP, Microsoft CE, Power Apps, and Dataverse data sources
