Job Summary
Railcar Repairman and Welder performing freight car repairs, inspections, and servicing in compliance with AAR/FRA and railroad rules; duties include inspecting rolling stock for defects, removing/replacing defective components, and operating welding and shop tools with emphasis on safety and physical endurance. Material handling, tool usage, and adherence to safety rules are required; welding, torch work, and mechanical aptitude are essential. Standard hours may include weekends and overtime with potential on-call requirements; CDL is a plus and reliable transportation is required. Fluent English communication and the ability to read/write are needed to interact with various stakeholders; a valid driver's license and willingness to travel to multiple locations across the United States are expected.
