Repair Technician (Whitefish Mountain Resort)

Job Summary
Provide quality repair service for guests, employees, and the rental fleet, covering both ski and snowboard equipment. Maintain a safe working environment by conducting periodic inspections, correcting unsafe conditions, and ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures. Manage repair equipment, order supplies within budget, and maintain appropriate records for shop forms. Assist in rental operations as a utility tech, perform pre-season and in-season binding tests, and research new product functionalities. Handle difficult guests, resolve problems, and communicate equipment care options while advocating for excellent guest service. Work within the Village Equipment Rental Shop or Base Lodge Rental Shop during the winter season from December through early-April.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Continuing education
- Experience in rental/repair operations
- Previous experience with ski and snowboard repair techniques (mounting, base repairs, tuning)
- Experience working directly with the public
- Knowledge of ski/snowboard industry
- Self-starter
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Able to function effectively with both guests and staff
- Ability to lift objects up to 10 pounds frequently
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to be on one's feet for extended periods, up to 6 hours
- Availability during holiday period (mid-December to mid-January)
- Winter Season availability (December through early-April)
- Non-smoking environment compliance
