Job Summary
Medical Device Repair Technician Level I at STERIS. Responsible for assembling, testing, and repairing electronic components and systems for medical devices in a lab setting; on-the-job training provided with opportunities for advancement through multiple technician levels. Key duties include using hand tools, operating microscopes and test equipment, performing hand soldering with precision, reading manuals and work instructions, documenting activities, and maintaining a customer-oriented approach in interactions. Requires a high school diploma or GED, mechanical/technical aptitude, and strong attention to detail; 2+ years of experience with hands-on work on small parts or related fields is preferred. Willingness to work overtime based on customer/business needs and to input data into company systems.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2+ years of work experience with detailed, hands-on work with small or delicate components
- Experience using hand tools, microscopes, soldering or precision assembly preferred but not required
- Ability to read and follow manuals, work instructions, and documentation
- Effective communication with team members and customers
- Basic computer skills for data input and documentation
