Repair/Maintenance Laborer

Job Summary
Perform general repairs and maintenance on company facilities, equipment, and property. Complete preventative maintenance on machinery, tools, and equipment, and assist with mechanical repairs on heavy equipment, trailers, and railcars. Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, saws, drills, and impact tools while performing basic welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication. Assist with painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general building repairs, and load, unload, move, and organize materials. Operate forklifts, skid steers, telehandlers, and man lifts as trained. Inspect equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns to management, keeping shop areas and work sites clean. Perform yard maintenance including mowing, weed trimming, snow removal, and debris cleanup. Follow preventative maintenance schedules and complete assigned work orders, maintaining inventory of tools and parts. Adhere to all OSHA and company safety regulations, prioritizing safety at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read and follow maintenance instructions and safety procedures
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the workday
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous maintenance, construction, mechanical, or general labor experience
- Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Forklift or heavy equipment experience
- Valid driver's license
- Self-starter who works well independently
- Dependable, motivated, and resourceful
- Ability to prioritize work and complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
- Physically and mentally fit
