Repair Development Engineer

Job Summary
Identify, evaluate, develop, and support the implementation of projects to increase sales, improve processes, and reduce costs. The senior repair development engineer will manage and lead assigned projects to completion, varying in scope from developing a repair from OEM Technical Data to advising leadership toward major process changes such as capability improvements by equipment procurement. Will mentor other departmental engineers. Responsibilities include reading OEM Technical Data (Inspection Repair Manuals, Drawings, MOT/MWIs), reviewing and writing thorough Repair Routings for efficiency and feasibility, communicating with multiple departments, planning and executing technical programs with limited supervision, developing new processes/equipment, creating shop paperwork for production transition, designing tooling/fixtures, and leading/mentoring Development Engineers or Associate Development Engineers. Preferred experience with FAA-DER Major Repair PMAs and various special processes (GTAW, E-Beam Weld, Heat Treat, Braze, Thermal Spray, EDM, Shot Peen, Balance/Spin). Proficient in MS Office and engineering software such as Solidworks, 2D AutoCAD. TurbineAero is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Engineering (or equivalent technical and Engineering experience)
- 10 years technical experience
- Five years of experience in manufacture and/or repair of Gas Turbine Engine components
- Experience with OEM Technical Data such as Inspection Repair Manuals, Drawings, MOT/MWIs, etc.
- Experienced in following aerospace specifications and processes
- Experience with various engineering software such as MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, Solidworks, 2D AutoCAD
