Job Summary

Coordinate pick-up and drop-off of child actors for rehearsals, tech, and performances while supervising them on-stage and maintaining discipline during off-stage moments. Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and liaise with HR, Stage Management, and state officials to ensure entertainment labor laws are followed, permits are filed, and schedules are lawful. Manage documentation for minors including employee files, payroll oversight, and workers' compensation details while anticipating practical problems in a fast-paced, moving train environment. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays with varied temperatures and uneven surfaces aboard the train. Join a 60-75 person cast and crew supporting over 2,000 guests on THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a theatrical setting
  • Comfortable learning and enforcing minor entertainment labor laws based on state guidelines
  • Ability to work with parents or guardians of minors in an effective and personable manner
  • Ability to communicate with local REP management regarding scheduling of minors, breaks, meals, and hours worked
  • Ability to work alongside the production staff as a team member in an ever-changing environment
  • Ability to work independently with self-motivation and attention to detail as well as excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate, recognize, and solve practical problems and resolve issues
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Able to stand and walk on uneven or unsteady surfaces aboard a moving train
  • Time spent in and around active railroad yard
