REO Portfolio Manager - Mortgage Insurance

Job Summary
Oversee daily operations and strategic management of Essent's REO portfolio, including acquiring properties from investors and selling them through retail and iBuyer channels. Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely closings while ordering and reviewing property valuations to reconcile accurate data. Assess property conditions via inspections, develop repair plans meeting quality standards, and design scalable, technology-driven processes to optimize handling. Establish and monitor KPIs, manage the REO dashboard in Power BI for executive reporting, and conduct financial due diligence on auction cycles. Partner with Risk, Legal, and Finance teams to mitigate losses, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide market insights for valuation strategies. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Real Estate and 5+ years of REO management experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in real estate, mortgage servicing, loss mitigation, or a related field
- Proven experience in managing REO properties
- Strong understanding of the real estate transaction lifecycle, from acquisition to disposition
- Experience with real estate valuation and financial modeling
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in a tech-forward environment with proven ability to implement process and technology improvements
- 100% compliance with all applicable policies and regulations
- Achievement of operational efficiency and loss reduction targets
- Timely and effective communication of key insights and decisions
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Familiar with the Freddie Mac auction process is a plus
