Job Summary
Operate equipment for loading and unloading customers, internal drivers, and outside haulers while following all safety procedures and using proper PPE. Perform routine checks, cleaning, and maintenance on rental equipment to ensure safety and proper working condition. Inspect returned assets for damage or missing parts, complete inspection checklists, and report issues to the Store Manager. Maintain a clean, organized yard and storage areas, secure equipment to prevent unauthorized use, and fill propane tanks. Provide excellent customer service and explain safe operating procedures. Requires valid driver's license, mechanical aptitude, and ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions. Join a family-owned leader in equipment rentals serving the Detroit area since 1946.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Chauffer license preferred
- Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other yard equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and basic maintenance skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
- Physical ability to lift, move, and handle equipment
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience performing basic equipment maintenance
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and identify maintenance needs
- Basic computer or tablet skills for checklists, service records, or rental documentation
- Understanding of small engines, hydraulic systems, or construction equipment
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
