Job Summary
The Rental Technician I is responsible for providing high-quality repair service on equipment to meet customer needs effectively. Duties include completing jobs within Caterpillar Equipment Repair Labor Guidelines, ensuring safety compliance, managing paperwork and databases accurately, and adhering to HAZMAT regulations. Candidates should possess knowledge of CAT natural gas engines and mechanical systems, be skilled in using hand and air tools, and have 1-3 years of experience in a related field, along with a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Required Qualifications
- Specific CAT product line knowledge of natural gas engines, electrical, electronic, mechanical systems and components
- Basic knowledge of gas/diesel engines and EPG systems and troubleshooting
- Proficient use of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software, cranes and rigging equipment
- Ability to provide accurate quotes
- 1-3 years of related experience
- Successfully complete Work Steps assessment
- Will be certified prior to operating a forklift and/or man lift
Desired Qualifications
- Associate’s degree/certificate in diesel technology or similar mechanical discipline

- This position is considered a safety sensitive position
- Required travel up to 10%
