Job Summary
Complete assigned repair jobs on Caterpillar natural gas engines and electrical systems following strict labor guidelines and safety protocols. Remove, install, and inspect components while managing parts orders, work orders, and warranty downloads for ECMs. Submit core returns and documentation accurately, applying contamination control and HAZMAT rules. This role requires basic knowledge of gas and diesel engines, troubleshooting skills, and proficiency with diagnostic software and hand tools. You will provide accurate quotes and operate with minimal supervision. Required travel is up to 10%.
Required Qualifications
- Specific CAT product line knowledge of natural gas engines, electrical, electronic, mechanical systems and components to include Preventative Maintenance Services
- basic knowledge of gas/diesel engines and EPG systems and troubleshooting
- Proficient use of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, lap tops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment
- ability to provide accurate quotes
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1-3 years of related experience
- Successfully complete Work Steps assessment
- Will be certified prior to operating a forklift and/or man lift
- Required travel up to 10%
- This position is considered a safety sensitive position
Desired Qualifications
- (Preferred) Associate's degree/certificate in diesel technology, or similar mechanical discipline
