Job Summary
Perform advanced mechanical repairs and assembly on compact construction and allied equipment, troubleshoot using diagnostic equipment, and disassemble/reassemble components. Responsibilities include inspecting and preparing equipment, referencing manuals and diagrams, using lift devices and power tools, conducting preventative maintenance, reprogramming equipment controllers, and generating repair work orders. Must meet education of high school diploma or GED and have four years of experience with CAT equipment, including proficiency in multiple mechanical systems.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Four years of work experience with at least two years’ experience with CAT equipment
- Proficiency in at least two mechanical systems (e.g., transmissions, engines, hydraulics) for numerous model lines
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, climb onto/under equipment and lift manual parts up to 112 pounds
- Ability to write repair activities on customer work orders
- Cognitive reasoning and problem-solving skills for unusual/unknown equipment problems
