Job Summary
Rental Shop Technician in Manassas, VA responsible for applying troubleshooting techniques to determine repair procedures, diagnosing basic repairs, and performing light mechanical repairs; inspecting returned equipment and attachments for repairs or maintenance; cleaning returned equipment; and assembling/repairing work tools in a shop environment. Requires basic mechanical aptitude and a minimum of one year experience with heavy construction equipment; high school diploma or GED. Must be able to follow safety rules, prepare work orders, parts lists, and time cards, and work shifts including days, nights, and weekends. Proficiency with computers and service software, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a team are required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year experience with heavy construction equipment and work tool repair
- High school diploma or GED required
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Self-starter able to work with limited supervision
- Must work well in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new knowledge
- Must be able to use tools and equipment correctly and safely
- Must be able to perform work in a fast-paced environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to prepare required documentation (work orders, parts lists, time cards)
- Must be willing to work shifts including days, nights, and/or weekends
- Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and service software
- Must be able to occasionally operate heavy machinery
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
