Job Summary
Complete assigned repair jobs on Caterpillar natural gas engines, electrical, and mechanical systems while adhering to Caterpillar Equipment Repair Labor Guidelines and WCAT safety policies. Remove, install, and inspect components; perform warranty ECM downloads; and submit parts and core returns with accurate documentation. Access required databases for work orders, parts, and safety data; apply Cat reusability guidelines and contamination control rules. Provide accurate quotes and maintain safety-sensitive standards. Requires 1-3 years of related experience and forklift/man lift certification. Travel up to 10%.
Required Qualifications
- Specific CAT product line knowledge of natural gas engines, electrical, electronic, mechanical systems and components to include Preventative Maintenance Services
- Position requires basic knowledge of gas/diesel engines and EPG systems and troubleshooting
- Proficient use of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, lap tops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment
- This position requires the ability to provide accurate quotes
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1-3 years of related experience
- Successfully complete Work Steps assessment
- Will be certified prior to operating a forklift and/or man lift
- Required travel up to 10%
- This position is considered a safety sensitive position
Desired Qualifications
- (Preferred) Associate's degree/certificate in diesel technology, or similar mechanical discipline
