Job Summary
Conduct outside sales by answering telephone orders, receiving in-person transactions, and recommending suitable equipment to customers. Prepare rental forms and contracts, collect deposits or payments, and maintain daily sales receipts and contract files. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly checks on equipment, compute charges based on rental rates, and update reservation lists. Resolve customer and invoicing problems, notify supervisors of delivery delays or overdue contracts, and promote add-on rental equipment. Adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and government requirements while working in various weather conditions on job sites.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 5 years of previous rental experience
- Positive, solutions-oriented mindset
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal/written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work with all levels of employees, management, and customers in a positive, professional and effective way
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to use in-house computer systems
- Ability to effectively communicate equipment applications and key performance specifications
- Strong creativity and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of usage and application of all rental equipment and services offered
- Ability to recognize the difference between similar products and the advantages/disadvantages of applications
- Working knowledge of construction phases
