Job Summary
Answer telephone orders and rent equipment or arrange service provision for customers in person and by phone. Build strong relationships with clients to recommend suitable equipment, explain rental fees, and collect deposits or process credit charges. Prepare rental forms and contracts, obtain signatures, and maintain daily and monthly contract files. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly checks; compute charges based on rental or service rates; and balance daily sales receipts. Resolve customer and invoicing problems while promoting add-on rental equipment for appropriate applications. Reserve items for requested times, update the overdue list daily, and notify supervisors of delays or issues. Maintain required phone logs and stay current on competitive pricing and local market trends. Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and store security rules.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 5 years of previous rental experience
- Positive, solutions-oriented mindset
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal/written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work with all levels of employees, management, and customers in a positive, professional and effective way
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to use in-house computer systems
- Ability to effectively communicate equipment applications and key performance specifications
- Strong creativity and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of usage and application of all rental equipment and services offered
- Ability to recognize the difference between similar products and the advantages/disadvantages of applications
- Working knowledge of construction phases
