Job Summary
Complete assigned repair jobs on Caterpillar equipment following strict labor guidelines and safety protocols. Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and apply failure analysis to diagnose issues. Submit parts and core returns with accurate documentation while performing warranty ECM downloads. Mentor team members and complete Level I & II training. Requires 2-5 years of experience, basic knowledge of gas/diesel engines, and proficiency with diagnostic software and hand tools. Must hold a clean driving record with ability to obtain CDL within 90 days and operate a forklift or man lift. Position involves 100% travel on a rotational schedule of 14 days on and 7 days off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2-5 years of related experience
- Clean driving record and ability to obtain CDL within 90 days of hire for field assignment
- Must be at least 21 to be assigned and operate field vehicle
- Successfully complete Work Steps assessment
- Will be certified prior to operating a forklift and/or man lift
- Specific CAT product line knowledge of natural gas engines, electrical, electronic, mechanical systems and components to include Preventative Maintenance Services
- Position requires basic knowledge of gas/diesel engines and EPG systems and troubleshooting
- Proficient use of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, lap tops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment
- This position requires the ability to provide accurate quotes
- Required travel up to 100%
Desired Qualifications
- (Preferred) Associate's degree/certificate in diesel technology, or similar mechanical discipline
